About the Event
‘Community Partnerships’ are a Hornsby Shire Council initiative which kickstart community groups in building new community events for the benefit of the local Cherrybrook community.
1st Cherrybrook Scout Group has been involved in delivering the annual Cherrybrook ‘Movie under the Stars’ event since 2012, providing a night of fun and entertainment for the Cherrybrook community and to a crowd of over 2000 local residents.
Your Business is Partnering with Success
The 2012 event was a huge success with a crowd of nearly 1000 Cherrybrook residents attending the screening of ‘Rio’. This was followed up in 2013 with a crowd of over 1300 people enjoying the screening of ‘Madagcar 3 – Europes Most Wanted’ and then over 1800 in 2014 with Monsters University, over 2200 people attending ‘The Lego Movie’ in 2015 with our first ever Fireworks Finale followed in 2016 with our biggest crowd ever of over 2500 people viewing the Minions movie.
A team of local parents and, more importantly, local children have put in a lot of hard work preparing for these events. The upcoming 2017 event is anticipated to continue the growth that we have seen since 2012.
Proven ability to attract community participation and media coverage
The events have been covered in local media including Hills News, the Hills Shire Times and The Hornsby Shire Advocate, including front page exposure in the Advocate.
Your sponsorship makes a difference ‐ delivering a real community benefit
All profits from the event were directly invested for the benefit of local children. Developing the leaders of tomorrow is a strong aspect of the Cherrybrook community.
- 26 1st Cherrybrook Scouts attended the 2013 National Scouts Jamboree along with 11,500 Scouts and leaders for ten days of leadership training and outdoor skills development with the vision of ‘Dream It, Live it’.
- Over 45 1st Cherrybook Cubs will attend the NSW Cuboree event along with 3,000 Cubs and leaders in January 2014 for five days of leadership training and outdoor skills development.
